Chipotle Releases an iOS Game That Takes Shots at Processed Food Manufacturers

Chipotle has just come out with a promotional campaign that targets two of my biggest passions – natural food and video games. The video above tells a beautiful story of a scarecrow (Chipotle) who works for “Crow Foods” (industrial farms), a food company that produces highly processed foods containing chickens pumped full of hormones and cows raised in cramped, unnatural conditions. The scarecrow sees the wrong in this and takes it upon himself to bring natural foods back to the people by starting his own farm and selling it in the city, competing directly with the company he formally worked with.

The iOS game puts you back in the scarecrow’s shoes, fighting against Crow Foods. The controls are entirely tilt-based and you need to navigate through each level while avoiding obstacles.

In each level, you need to transport items to your destination, trying not to lose your items by getting hit by an obstacle. Each level has various challenges. In the first level, for example, you need to carry 5 boxes of fresh produce to your destination. Each time you are spotted or get hit by an obstacle, you lose a box. At the hardest difficulty of the first level, you need to get to the end of the level without losing any boxes and within the short time period you’re given.

This game is challenging, but honestly, it isn’t very good. There are only four levels and each level has 4 or 5 challenges, which is really only the same exact challenge, but with increasing difficulty. I became bored of the game real quick.

I liked the little shots the game took at industrial farms and food production companies though. This game has a great message! The one thing I find interesting is that Chipotle would choose to release this when nearly all of their ingredients are GMO.

Quake 3 on iTouch

Want to play Quake 3 on the go? If you have an iTouch, you’re well on your way. Check out this video of Quake 3 running on the mobile device. It looks awesome. I think it would take some time to get used to controlling though.

The Flavor of Love Going Mobile

Flavor Flav

Is some odd news, the popular VH1 reality show, The Flavor of Love, will be coming to a mobile device near you. “The Flavor of Love” will include a variety of challenges, some of which have been taken from the show, such as pie fights and sky writing. The game is scheduled to launch at the end of April.

That show is just too ghetto for me. I can’t believe any of those girls would want to hook up with Flavor Flav. I guess that’s all the fun of watching it though, right?

Guitar Hero III on Your Blackberry

Yes, another version of Guitar Hero III is being tossed around, this time for the Blackberry. Hands-On Mobile, who brought Guitar Hero III to the mobile platform, has stated that the mobile version of the game has achieved 7.5 million song downloads in less than six months, so it seems like it’s the right decision to give even more people the option to play. As part of the licensing agreement, the game will be distributed by Magmic Games, and can be purchased via Bplay.com.

Spore Gets an Official Release Date

Spore has been talked about within the gaming community for a long time now and many people are anxious to get their hands on it. Well, Electronic Arts has given us a release date of September 7th, 2008 for PC, Mac, DS and the mobile phone. Not as good as the expected Spring target, but at least we have a firm date to look forward to. Begin counting down the days. Oh, and here’s a “launch trailer” which doesn’t really explain much.

Playboy Games: Pool Party Screenshot

Today, THQ Wireless Inc. announced that they signed an agreement with Playboy Enterprises to develop exclusive Playboy-branded mobile games. The first title is scheduled to launch in the summer of 2008, by the name of Playboy Games: Pool Party. This game will include a set of mini-games that will depict animated, bikini-clad Playmates at the Playboy Mansion participating in “pool party sports.” That might be fun…I guess.
