This is a little scary to me. Kwari, in free beta right now, is a new first person shooter in which you can win and lose money. Real money. You have to pay to play, actually you pay for ammo, and for every hit you take, you lose money, but for every hit you make, you gain money. Get it? Now if you suck at first person shooters, you better just stick to The Sims, but if you don't suck, get in there and battle your way to a college fund.
Why is the ESRB so crappy? The Netherlands have allowed the release of Manhunt 2 and it is unedited. The country doesn't have any laws that will allow the ban of games for its violent content. Lucky bastards.
If you are looking for some good Labor Day sales, look no further than your local Sports Authority...oh! and your Xbox 360. Xbox Live Arcade will be offering four XBLA titles for half price over the Labor Day weekend. Starting at 12am GMT on Sunday and ending at 11:59pm GMT on Monday, September 3rd you can pick up "Small Arms" and "Zuma Deluxe" for 400 Microsoft points as well as "Gauntlet" and "Dig Dug" for 200 Microsoft points.
You do know that your chance to get a Playstation 3, with full backwards compatibility, is almost gone right? That's right. Sony's warehouses all seem to be completely out of stock on the 60GB PS3 model. All of the 60GB models are now in stores so you better get one soon. I already have mine, so no worries here.
Wanna see some footage from the upcoming Turok videogame. Take a look at a newly added feature to the game. Silent kills can make this game a bit more fun. I hated how in all of the past Turok game, the enemies automatically just knew where you were at and would attack you right away.
No, this isn't about the Olympics. Three demos have been added to Xbox Live recently. Go get NHL 08 for some hockey brutality on ice, Surf's Up for...I don't know, your kids, and Timeshift for shooting stuff up. Now download and get to playing.
There are tons more goodies on the Playstation Store this week. If you are looking for stuff to play, there's plenty of that. You can download the Tekken 5 Dark Ressurection Online Bundle for $29.99 (or $9.99 for the upgrade) and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for $9.99. If you don't want to buy anything you can download demos for Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Nascar 08, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008, and All-Pro Football 2K8.
Keeping up with the Heavenly Sword stuff, there is the Heavenly Sword Anime No. 4 video and a Heavenly Sword "Making Of" No. 4 video, as well as game trailers; Folklore "Surviving the Netherworld" Trailer and Clive Barker's Jericho Trailer.
For Movie Trailers this week, you can check out the Bee Movie Trailer and a Beowulf Trailer.
Last of all comes the handy dandy wallpapers. Heavenly Sword Anime No. 4 Wallpaper and Super Puzzle Fighter II Wallpaper 1, 2, 3, and 4.
The single player demo for Call of Juarez is now available on XBL. This game is a shooter that gives you an authentic look into the Old West. Experience saloon fights, train robberies, and fist fights. How was the west really won? You be the judge. Wow, I should write advertisements.
That's right. The game is finished. Now all you have to do is sit there and wait for the game to show up on store shelves. Just sit there and wait. You know it's finished, but there's nothing else you can do about it. Hmmmm... So tired of waiting. Is it here yet?
Infinity Ward has announced that the first wave of beta tokens for Call of Duty 4 has come to an end, but there are still more opportunities for you to get in. Everyone who signed up for the beta in the original 24 hour sign up period will eventually be given an token which will be handed out in waves.
I just posted a story yesterday about how I don't like golf games, but I didn't think of the Wii when I was thinking about that comment. I think golf on the Wii would be a ton of fun. Camelot has announced that they will be bringing Wii Love Golf to the Wii in cooperation with Capcom. Camelot has also created Mario Tennis and Mario Golf in the past. Of course you will be using the Wiimote as the golf club and you will have more freedom to do advanced techniques like backspins and other golf things I don't know. The game is scheduled for a winter release in Japan as of right now.
I want this game. This trailer makes me sort of rethink my decision a little bit though.
Is that supposed to mean something to you? Maybe, if you are looking for something new to buy for your Nintendo DS. Theta is a new puzzle game that will be available for the DS next month in Japan, but there is a Flash version of the game on the intertubes if you want to play it right now. Go to the official Theta website for some puzzling goodness.
The site is in Japanese so here are some directions: There are colored balls in the slots. When you rotate the slots on the lower screen, the slots on the top screen also turn. When the slots are lined up, the balls fall through. Try to get all of the balls into the colored circle and you are on your way to a harder puzzle.
Do you like to play video game golf? I don't, unless it's Hot Shots Golf, but anyway, there is a demo of Tiger Woods 08 on Xbox Live right now if you do. You can play through three single player holes at TPC Boston and try out the new EA GamerNet feature that lets you post saved replays online or downloading other players replays. If you already know that you will like it, you can just buy the full version as well, since that just came out this week.
Warhawk, the game that many PS3 owners have been clammoring about recently was just released yesterday on the Playstation Store for $40 and gamers have downloaded the game and now want to share it. Other downloadable games on the PS Network were allowed to be shared on up to five other PS3 machines, but not Warhawk. Warhawk is allowed only to be played on one Playstation Network account and only on one machine in any 24 hour period. Guess you'll just have to get your own then.
If you boot up Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 you should find yourself not knowing what to do with the new "Throwback Pack 2" that was just released. The pack was originally priced at 800 points back in May, but now it's free. Yay! Lots of good maps there for you to play if you didn't buy the content pack earlier.
Do you remember that game for the Atari 2600, Joust? If you do, then the headline of this article should have you thinking, "What the Hell?!." That's what I was thinking anyway. How the heck can you make a movie based off of that game? Anyway, Christine Peters and Michael Cerenzie are two Hollywood producers have created a new company named CP Productions aimed to target movie goers under the age of 25 years of age. Their first project is obviously Joust. Why not? First of all, the game is so old, that I don't think anyone under 25 will really know what it is, and second, it's an Atari 2600 game. There isn't much story to tell there. Oh well, we'll see how this one pans out.
Take a peek at a little more of the upcoming Hitman movie
If you've been excited to play Warhawk, the multiplayer-only shooter on the Playstation 3, then get your ass over to the PS Store. You can now download the game for $39.99. You can also go to your local game store and buy the Blu-ray version sometime later this week for $59.99 if you want an extra USB cable and Jabra Bluetooth headset. Now this is a fun game.
Here is what you have for the Virtual Console update. All sequels this time.

Breath of Fire II (Super NES, 800 points) is a really good RPG. It is a traditional RPG in the same gameplay as Final Fantasy. This game takes place 500 years after the original in a village called Gate. Ryu is left alone one day when his father and sister are abducted and all of the villagers have suddenly forgotten about it. Ryu meets Bow at a church who is also suffering from similar problems and they head off together to get some answers. If you like RPG's, pick this one up. Great game.

Ghouls 'n Ghosts (Sega Genesis, 800 points) is the sequel to the very popular Ghosts 'n Goblins game. In this game, you play as Arthur who must save his bride's soul, which has been stolen by a strange light that shot through Princess Prin Prin's body. This is a fun side scroller.
Super C (NES, 500 points) is a sequel to the Contra. C'mon, you already know this game is good. Side scrolling, top down, run and gun gameplay, makes this game a constant excitement. In this game you play as Mad Dog or Scorpion and take on the evil forces of Red Falcon. And don't forget, this game is two player so you can kick some ass with a buddy. The best way to enjoy a game like this.
I am a huge fan of dark and twisted story lines, so of course I will be buying games like the upcoming Silent Hill game on the PSP, Manhunt 2 on Halloween and the awesome looking shooter, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. Check out the new Kane & Lynch trailer below.
Wanna see some more footage from Killaone 2? Of course you do. Take a look at how the AI works, how your teammates cooperate with you, and a look at one of the mini bosses in the game. Holy crap I can't wait for this game to come out.
Activision has announced that they will be opening the beta for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on Xbox 360 on Monday. It will launch at 12:00 p.m. Pacifiv Daylight Time. If you want your opportunity to join the beta, visit Charlie Oscar Delta for your chance to receive a token that will give you access to a few of the maps and modes available in the Multiplayer part of the game.
If you don't already own this game, here's your chance to get your hands on it. Madden 08 is now available on Xbox Live and you get to play a rematch of Super Bowl XLI. Take your choice of either the Indianapolis Colts, the champs, or the Chicago Bears, the chumps.
Rockstar Games has announced that the ESRB has finally decided to give an 'M' rating the upcoming Manhunt 2 game. Who knows how much cool stuff had to be cut out of the game before the rating was approved though. Now that it'll be allowed to be sold in Walmart's across North America, it also has a set release date. Look for it on Halloween. Yup. The game will see store shelves on October 31st, 2007. I will definitely be waiting.
You know that Xbox 360 with the new microchips that everyone is waiting for? They are coming out in the fall. The first shipment of the 360's with the microchips that are built using a 65-nanometer manufacturing process will be here in the fall and are likely to already be on ships coming from China. Time to buy a new 360.
Seems like most of the news these days are about upcoming demos. That's ok though, because demos are freakin' awesome! Well Free Radical is here to make the news by announcing that a demo for their game Haze will be available sometime on the Playstation Network. Expect to see it sometime before the full version is released in November. I can't wait for that one.
If you are a gamer, you have to love the Castlevania series. That would mean that you should be excited about this piece of news. Possibly. Konami is bringing a completely original Castlevania title to mobile phones on September 18. It will have a new storyline and an original soundtrack. Castlevania: Order of Shadows will be available on T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and other major carriers. Cool!
Activision has announced that they will be releasing a five song demo of Guitar Hero 3 for the Xbox 360 on October 9th. Why, that's the same day Activision's "Tony Hawk's Proving Ground" comes out. What a coincidence. Not really, because the demo is being packaged into Proving Ground. That's a little different. Just a little incentive to pick up the skateboarding game, but don't worry, you don't have to but proving ground. The demo will be available for download on Xbox Live two weeks later. In addition to this news is also some new tracks for the game. Here they are:
The updates on the Playstation Network just keep getting better and better. I shouldn't get too excited though, because one day, I know I will be extremely let down. I hope not though, because these updates are great.
This week you get a Folklore Sneak Preview Demo, which is available only until the 31st so pick it right away. You can also download a new Metal Gear Solid 4 2007 Trailer, a Timeshift Gameplay Trailer, Heavenly Sword Anime No. 3 video, and Heavenly Sword "Making Of" No. 3 video.
If you are looking for wallpaper, you can download the Warhawk Eucadian Wallpaper, the Warhawk Chernovan Wallpaper, and a Flow Wallpaper.
In the movie trailer section, you can watch the Vantage Point Trailer, a National Treasure 2 Trailer, and the Thing We Lost in the Fire Trailer
Three people got together and created a Nintendo themed Rube Goldberg device in their 3d animation class. There are parts of it that kind of suck, like the beginning because it takes too damn long, but this video is pretty damn good. I was really impressed considering this was for their "Intro to 3d Animation" class. That's a great first animation to put together.
Michael Bay recently announced that he wouldn't be directing the sequel to Transformers 2 and just a day later, he has changed his mind. The reason being that he watched "300" on HD DVD with Paramount and thought that "it rocks." He also listened to their reasoning for the decision and he seems to like what they have told him, and he is back on track. What a dumbass. At least we will still get Transformers 2...like there was really any doubt.
Ubisoft is trying to get more people on the Blazing Angels bandwagon. Guess how they are doing it. Can you believe this! A DEMO! How intriguing. Just kidding. I'll never get tired of demos and I think there should be much more of them. Anyway, if you own an Xbox 360 you get the first chance at trying Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII. Download the demo on Xbox Live Marketplace right now.
Do you love your soccer? Then I'm sure you love to play FIFA 08 and now there's an even better reason to waste away in front of that TV screen. FIFA Soccer 08 will run at 60 frames per second and both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will also feature Be a Pro: Online Team Play. This is a downloadable add-on that will give players the ability to play five-on-five online matches. How awesome is that? The full version is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, PC, PSP, and Nintendo DS on October 9th and the PS3 version is expected to hit shelves on October 16. Look for it around then. Maybe you'll see me on there. Not likely though, because I always suck at soccer games, but I just might give this one a try.
Michael Bay has cancelled Transformers 2. Actually he has vowed not to work on the sequel, so I don't know if they will just find someone else to direct it. The reason for the cancellation? Because Paramount decided to drop the Blu-ray format. According to the popular director, "I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks! They were progressive by having two formats. No Transformers 2 for me!"
The latest update for Folding@home on the Playstation 3 brings some great things. User requests and improvement in the accuracy of the core that runs on the SPU have been addressed as well the rendering engine for the molecules has been revised. PSP Remote Play is now supported as well. I hope you are still doing your part to help.
According to an article on Games Radar, a playable demo of Folklore will be on the PS Store today. That's all good and well, except for one thing. It is rumored to only last for a limited time before it is removed. No time period is being announced, so just log on and download it right away if it's there.
EA has made available a demo for their game Skate on Xbox Live marketplace. The demo lets you play in San Vanelona, which is a mix-up of Vancouver, San Francisco, and Barcelona for up to 30 minutes. A Playstation 3 demo is also expected before the games full version is released, but no details are available right now.
Sony Computer Entertainment America is giving out a demo for their upcoming game, Jeanne D'Arc. All you have to do is sign up for it. They will be given out on a first come, first serve basis, so you better get your name in the hat. Go the official Jeanne D'Arc website if you want a little RPG action.
Have you always wanted to mod your Playstation 2, but were too worried that you might screw something up and make you PS2 nothing more than a pile of junk? Now you have a better option. Now if you want to play "homebrew" games on your PS2 all you have to do is simply push a memory card into the system. The Vast memory card modchip is a plug-and-play device that lets you bypass the PS2's security and allows you to launch your homebrew games. It will be available in around two weeks, so keep an eye out for it if you are interested. I'll let you know more when more info is announced.
Paramount has announced that they have decided to back HD DVD exclusively. It isn't completely known why the exclusivity agreement has been reached but rumor is that $150 million might have something to do with it. You know what though. I'm the only one in the family that has a PS3 so I just rent and buy strictly DVD's so that everyone else can watch them too, so it doesn't really matter to me.
Folklore has already been announced for the Playstation 3 and think it's going to be a whole lot of fun. What's even better though, is that Sony has announced that they will also be bringing the game to the PSP. The game is being developed in Japan as we speak.
Three more games for your Wii. Some good ones too.

Super Metroid (Super NES, 800 Wii points) puts you back in the shoes of Samus Aran who must fight against The Space Pirates, Mother Brain's minions, who have stolen the last Metroid from a research station. Defeat Mother Brain and save the galaxy.

Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master (Sega Genesis, 800 Wii points) is the sequel to The Revenge of Shinobi. In this story, Joe Musashi finds out that the crime syndicate that he thought he wiped out, Neo Zeed, still exist. Upon his realization, he decides that he must come out of exile and destroy the group once and for all.

Neutopia (TurboGrafx16, 600 Wii points) is an action RPG where you take control of a boy who sets off on a journey to rescue the princess who has been kidnapped by the evil demon, Dirth. Dirth has also stolen eight medallions which you must also recover. Find labyrinths, solve puzzles, and fight your way through many bosses.
If you've been jealous of Xbox 360 owners because they get to play the Bioshock demo, be jealous no longer. Some time today, the demo can be downloaded to your PC coming in at a size of 1.84GB from FileShack.
It's now possible to play DVD's on your Nintendo Wii, thanks to Team Symbiote. That is if you have a modded Wii anyway. You will need to install a modchip that supports Dual Layer DVDs for the program to work. You have to burn the program, YAOSM 1.8, onto a DVD using a program such as CloneCD and boot it up in your modded Wii. When the menu comes up, hit "z" to unmount the disc, put your DVD into the system and hit "start." That's all there is to it.
Mr. Thompson is at it again. Now he is crying about a Bioshock advertisement that aired during WWE Smackdown. He claims that since WWE Smackdown is watched by an audience of many people under the age of 17 and that Bioshock aired during the show, Take-Two is aggressively marketing it's Mature-rated game to kids. I'm so tired of this guy already.
I think just about every Playstation 3 owner is excited for Insomniacs upcoming game, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Good news for the lot o' ya. Insomniac has announced that the game will be hitting store shelves on October 23. That's only a little over 2 months away. Ok, that makes it sound a little long, but time will pass and it will feel like it was just the other day when you read this. Oh yeah, and there is supposed to be a demo for the game coming soon too. What a tease.
If you go to the Playstation Store, there are some goodies just waiting to be downloaded. If you want to play some games, you can download the demos for DiRT and NCAA Football 08. If you want to watch some game videos, there is the Heavenly Sword Anime No. 2 video, the Heavenly Sword "Making Of" No. 2 video, Folklore A Tale of Two Strangers video, and a Timeshift Trailer. Last but not least, there are some movie trailers which are The Brothers Solomon Red Band, WALL-E, and the Lives of Others. Now that's a whole lot of update.
You may or may not have played the Japanese demo of Folklore, Folksoul overseas, but here is a new trailer to help you decide. The game is absolutely awesome looking. The graphics are great and the story looks really interesting...and weird. I like weird.
Gamecock is a fairly new company that started earlier this year and I, as well as many others I'm sure, have been anxious to see what this company would come out with. Well their first two titles, Fury and Dementium, now have release dates. Fury is a Player vs. Player MMO that will be available on October 9th. Dementium: The Ward is a survival horror game for the Nintendo DS. It is being marketed as a sort of Silent Hill meets Doom type of game. Sounds good to me. That one is due out sometime later in the month of October.
The recently released Calling All Cars from famed developer David Jaffe is supposedly supposed to be coming over to the PSP sometime soon. The game is a whole lot of fun, so a portable version would be awesome. Let's hope it'll be free. No other news has been released, so stay tuned for more info.
The Lost Planet Multiplayer Map pack #3 is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace for free. It was originally released at 400 Microsoft points and if you didn't have the dough or just didn't feel like paying for it knowing it would eventually be free, your wait is now over. The map pack contains three maps; Lost Technology, Ruins, and Ice Drop.
If you go to the Playstation Blog, you'll find an exciting surprise. That's if you are looking forward to the game Warhawk, anyway. Holy crap, have they put together a lot of information about the game. They mention stuff about the headset, split screen play, downloadable content, hosting, and tons more. You know what, just read it.
Knibble.com has launched an awesome site containing tons of Wii-enabled casual games so now you have more of a reason to play with the Wii. Casual games are hugely popular on the computer, but how will they translate to console users? The site contains more than 5,000 casual games such as Bejeweled (of course) and solitaire. Just go to the site through the internet browser on the Wii and you can start playing without even having to download anything. Wow, good deal. The Wii site is wii.knibble.com or you can visit their main site at www.knibble.com.
EA has announced that they will be releasing the demo for Medal of Honor Airborne on the Xbox 360 on August 23, 2007. You will be able to download it on Xbox Live Marketplace. There will also be a PC demo on the same day if you want to play that one. You can get the PC demo from their Medal of Honor website. The full version of the game will be available September 4th on the Xbox 360 and PC, and sometime in November for the Playstation 3.
It's not often that the Wii gets an update, but it just got another one. This is just a really small one this time though. One fix is for when the system locks up when you try to reset the system while using the internet browser as well as some problems with using a LAN adapter for internet access. That's all.
You know why I say that. If you have an Xbox 360 then of course you do. A Beautiful Katamari demo has hit XBL. Go check it out.
Do you like My Chemical Romance? Yeah, me neither. Ok, I'm sorry if you do, but anyway there is a new My Chemical Romance Pack on XBL for 500 Microsoft Points. The pack contains the songs "Teenagers," "Famous Last Words," and "This is How I Disappear." Awesome.
If you want to be able to watch 300 at any time you want to and you are too lazy to go buy the DVD, or HDDVD at Best Buy or Walmart, now you have an easy choice to make. Download it from Video Marketplace. Only 5.3GB. That's sarcasm, just so you know.
If you have an Xbox 360, you have no doubt played the Bioshock demo that just came out. You have probably beaten it by now too. If you have, then go play it again, except this time on hard mode. Yeah, I know it's grayed out on the title screen, but here comes the trick.
Before you start the demo, go to your game profile in the dashboard and change your default game settings. Go to general and change your difficulty to hard. Now load up that sweet, sweet demo and Hard Mode will be highlighted. You will have to do this every time though.
Owner of 3d Realms, George Broussard, has announced that he would like to see Duke Nukem 3D ported over to Xbox Live Arcade. It looks highly likely too, considering this comment he posted in response to someone else's post on ShackNews:
"Truth be told, we've talked to Microsoft about it and have some people that would port it. Just waiting on the good word from Microsoft to continue."
That game was freaking awesome and I would be disgusted if Microsoft denied the request. Here's hopin'
So what can you expect to download on Wednesday over Xbox Live Arcade? Hexic 2 and Ecco the Dolphin of course. Hexic 2 (800 Microsoft Points) is a hexagonal puzzle game, much like it's predecessor, except now it has new pieces and formations as as added challenges and two player competition locally or through Xbox Live. Ecco the Dolphin (400 Microsoft Points), for some odd reason, has always been a huge hit. Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining, but in my opinion it wasn't something I wanted to keep coming back for. Anyway, you can also pick up this game with some Achievements added in.
Sierra just keeps pumping out new stuff for F.E.A.R. fans and it doesn't seem to be ending, which is a good thing of course. Sierra has just released the F.E.A.R. Bonus Map Pack for free which contains three new multiplayer maps. The maps include Ecosphere, Hotel, and Sewers. Now isn't that nice.
The weekly update for the Virtual Console is upon us. So what do you get this week? Let's have a little look see.

Metroid (NES, 500 Wii points) should be a pretty exciting addition to many people. This is the first installmant in the insanely popular franchise of Metroid games. You are a cybernetic bounty hunter named Samus Aran and you must penetrate the space pirates' home planet, Zebes, and stop them from destroying the galaxy with dangerous life forms known as Metroids. This is a must own.

Shining in the Darkness (Sega Genesis, 800 Wii points) is an RPG in which you must stop Dark Sol from trying to take reign over the Kingdom of Thornwood. You have to find the Arms of Light and destroy the evil beasts that torture the people of your land. Seek out your enemies and pass the test of the Ancients and become a shining knight.

Cratermaze (Turbografx16, 600 Wii points) is funny action game which is set in a parallel world. The evil Zenzombie has sent his henchman, Kublai, to trap you and your friends in the space-time continuum. Now you have to navigate through 60 rounds of mazes to save your friends, fighting enemies such as dinosaurs, robots, and ninjas. Dig holes to trap them and then fill the holes to kill them.
Have you seen the Bioshock trailer? If you haven't check the post directly below this one. Now go to the Xbox Live Marketplace and download the demo. Wow.
The BioShock launch trailer aired last night during the premiere of Kill Point on Spike TV, but if you missed it, here it is. This video is sure to get you hyped up for the release on August 21.
Playstation Underground has set up a cool contest for you creative types. The Folklore Create-A-Creature Contest asks that you create an original "Folk" for the upcoming fantasy action-adventure, Folklore. You will need to give it it's own unique abilities and special attack that can be gained by the player after defeating your "Folk." If you win, your character will be added to the game by downloading a character pack. The winner and four runners up will get a free copy of the game.
On July 30th, the open beta for Acclaims massively-multiplayer online role playing game, 2Moons, began and the registrations have exploded. Acclaim announced that more than 100,000 players have joined. The first world was filled in 24 hours, which resulted in Acclaim having to create a second world to accomodate everyone. The game is targeted towards gamers who are looking for a mature storyline and intense violence. This game will be free, so you might as well sign up. I haven't played it myself, but I will be signing up right away. It looks like a lot of fun.
If you are a GameTap subscriber, there is a really awesome game waiting on their service for you to download. Overlord!!! The game goes like this. You have inherited the ruined domain of an evil overlord and now you have to rebuild the evil empire. You get to slaughter the innocent and burn down villages. Sounds fun don't it? Check it out NOW!
Not that it is much of a surprise, but Microsoft has announced that Halo 3 is the fastest selling pre-ordered video game in history, having exceeded the 1 million mark. Now thats a whole lot of pre-orders. Have you contributed to that number yet?
Not much this week. There is a Gran Turismo "PS Premiere Event Trailer", and two video for Heavenly Sword; "Legend of the Sword Video" and "Making of Video." There are also some movie trailers for Ghost Rider and The Covenant. Wow. That update sucks.
Nothing in this post is on PSN except for the Heavenly Sword videos. I guess that's what I get for listening to Three Speech, which is a UK Playstation blog. Not saying that they are unreliable, just that I shouldn't use UK news when I live in the US. Ok, well with the two Heavenly Sword videos, the update also brings a Turok Gameplay video and a Heavenly Sword Anime No. 1 wallpaper for free, as well as a puzzle game by the name of Piyotama, which goes for $2.99. The movie trailers include 10,000 B.C., Fred Claus, and Superbad. There is also a Blu-ray trailer of Perfect Stranger.
Some new in-game content for you today. Band of Bugs gets Red Kingdom, which is a new tile set consisting of ten new levels and two new units for 250 Microsoft points. Solitrio SOlitaire gets Game Pack 5 for 150 Microsoft points, which includes 10 more games. Lastly, Carcassonne gets Rivers II Expansion Pack which adds 12 new river tiles to the original game for 300 Microsoft points.
There was a contest recently to submit names to Monolith for the next F.E.A.R. game, but they have chosen the finalists so you can't really name it anymore, but you can have a say in the final choice. You have to vote right away, because voting ends tomorrow. Out of more than 10,000 titles submitted into the contest, three finalists have been chosen. Go to their website and vote.
Stranglehold is the sequel to John Woo's popular action packed film, Hard Boiled so you know that it will be pretty damn good, right. Well, Midway has just let loose the Stranglehold demo for Xbox 360 owners which will give you little taste of what's to come from the full version of the game. Go download it on Xbox Live right now. They full version is scheduled for release later this month.
The neverending battle between games and politics is tiring, but you may be able to add some pizazz to the whole debate. According to gamepolitics.com, The Entertainment Consumers Association has announced their support for game issue-oriented videos for the CNN / YouTube Republican Presidential Debate that is coming up soon. If you follow all the rules and upload your video question, you also get a free t-shirt. Check out the details here.
Last week was supposed to be when Steam Community went live, but they hit some snags and delayed until this week. The beta is now live. There are a ton of cool new features. Learn how to take part in the beta here.
There is a new firmware update for the Wii, which brings the update to version 3. Check out some of the updates below. Not all are listed, but these are the main ones.
There is a new demo for you to try out on your Xbox 360. Go to Xbox Live Marketplace and download a demo for the RPG, Eternal Sonata. The story takes place in a dream world which centers around the piano composer Chopin. This could be a pretty good, and possibly weird story.
There is a new update for your Xbox 360 waiting for you to download. The update is mandatory, so you'll receive the prompt when you sign in to Xbox Live. The update doesn't include much. All it does is prepare the 360 for the wireless guitars that are coming out soon. Wireless support is always a good thing.
As of today, you can pick up the Xbox 360 for a little bit cheaper. This only applies to the U.S. though.
Everyone has been anxiously awaiting Playstation Home on the PS3, unless of course you have been included in the beta. Well, you still have to wait for Home to come out on your PS3, but now you can also wait for it to come out on your PSP. It has been announced that Sony wants to create an area of Home that will be accessible from the PSP no matter where you are, that will let PSP and PS3 owners interact with each other. The more I hear about Home, the more I can't wait for it to go live.

It was recently announced at QuakeCon that id Software will be forming a second development team to create "Quake Zero." The zero in the name stands for free. That's right, free. How cool is that. This will be a free version of Quake 3 Arena and will run right in your web browser. Cool, huh?
Tecmo announced that they will be releasing some new modes for Ninja Gaiden Sigma over the next three months. Each mode will be downloadable from the Playstation Network and will cost $2.99. On August 30, you will get "Weapon Master," which will let players select one weapon and try to take on a whole mess of enemies. The next mode will be "Speed Master," which puts players in a face off between enemies and you have a limited amount of health and time. This one is scheduled for September. The final mode scheduled for October will be "Rachel Master." This mode lets you control Rachel as she takes on five waves of enemy battles. Some good stuff.

If you really want an 80GB Playstation 3, you can get one from Gamestop and it comes with Motorstorm. Honestly, I think you should go buy a 60GB version before they run out. That way you'll have full backwards compatibility, instead of having to depend on firmware updates. You can always upgrade to a bigger hard drive anyway.
This great photo was colored (not sure if created) by a member of the Warppipe.com forums who goes by the name of s7cbassplayer.
id Software has announced a new FPS at QuakeCon that they will be releasing called "Rage," and it looks pretty good. Those graphics are as crisp as a Lay's potato chip.
Everybody has been wondering what the pricing would be for the upcoming PS3 game, Warhawk, and now you can find out. How, you may ask? Because I'm gonna tell you in a second dumbass, just wait. Ok, the retail version will sell for $59.99 and will include expanded content, traditional packaging, and a Jabra Bluetooth headset. If you don't care about any of that other stuff and you just need the game, you can download it from the Playstation Store for $39.99. There you have it. Those are your options. Which version will you choose?
That's right. You heard me right. Take Two has announced that Grand Theft Auto IV is being delayed until Spring of 2008. This is due to the fact that "additional development time is required to complete the title." Yeah that really sucks, but that leads me to believe that they working their hardest to make this a really great game and an awesome experience. I really believe it will be just that too.
If you play a lot of Electronic Art's games online, you should be worried. Sort of. They are shutting down online servers for a whole crap load of games soon. Mostly games that you should be tired of already, but you may want to get in a few more good punches, hoops, touchdowns, goals, etc. before they are gone for good. Here is the complete list that EA has announced.
It has been confirmed that Blacksite: Area 51 has been delayed from September for sometime in November. No reason has really been given as to why, but many believe it is due the fact that Halo 3 comes out in September. Probably a good decision on the part of Midway.
At the E3 conference that just took place last month, it was announced that there would be a Call of Duty 4 beta coming to the Xbox 360 and some more news has been shed on the topic. Activision has announced that the beta test will be for US residents only and is scheduled to take place sometime this month. No reason has been given as to why the beta will not be available elsewhere, but I'm sure everyone in elsewhere is probably pissed about it.
I don't know if you are even really interested in Guitar Hero anymore, considering that Rock Band will be coming soon, but the tracklist for the game is quite impressive. 11 new songs have been announced. Check the list:
Steam, the online gaming service has been planning to start a community, sort of like a Myspace except a lot cooler and funner. The new update will bring feature such as Live Arcade as well as non-Steam games to Steam for free. Anyway, the Steam Community beta was planned to start yesterday, but due to complications, it has been delayed until next week. Learn more about it here. I'll let you know when it goes live next week as well.
Today, the PSN Store brings some nice stuff for you to twiddle and oggle. The new Blast Factor Advanced Research Add-On pack is there as well as...wait for it...wait for it. DEMOS! Two of 'em this time too. Go download the demos for The Darkness as well as Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2. I know that the GRAW demo has already been on Xbox Live for a while now, but hey, at least it's something.
For movie trailer, you can watch Michael Clayton, Get Smart, and The Game Plan. That's a pretty sweet update, and should make your evening even better than it usually is. Which is probably really awesome if I've judged you correctly.
One of the biggest games everyone has been waiting for on the Playstation 3 is Lair, and Sony has announced that the game has been delayed. Not by much though. This is due in part to quality assurance testing of the community features of the game not being complete. The game was supposed to launch on August 14th, but will now be released on September 4th, hopefully.
According to Warwick Light of Sony New Zealand, the Playstation 3 is looking to launch a digital tuner for the console. This would make the system even more of a powerhouse, which I think Sony is looking for. The ultimate multimedia machine. He stated that they would like to launch the tuner around the same time that Freeview launches their broadcasting services, which is expected sometime in March.
Forza Motorsport owners can finally download some content for their game. Via Xbox Live, Microsoft and Turn 10 are giving players three Nissan-sponsored cars for free as well as a Peugeot 908 for 50 Microsoft points. The free cars are a 2007 Sentra SE-R, Altima, and a 350Z. The cars look awesome. Go get 'em.
Do you remember when the British Board of Film Classification banned Manhunt 2 in the UK on June 19th? What am I saying? Of course you do. Well, Rockstar Games was given a total of six weeks to appeal the decision made by the BBFC, and with time almost out, they finally did it. Hopefully the ban is overturned and then they appeal the decision of the AO rating here in North America.
Bungie has finally released some solid details about online gameplay for Halo 3. Until now, nobody knew if co-operative gameplay was going to exist in the game, but it has been confirmed that it will. Four player online co-op even. Cool.
It was recently reported that there was a price break for the Xbox 360 coming soon. This was in part to a scan from a Circuit City ad. The Elite will sell for $449.99 ($30 cut), the Premium will sell for $349.99 ($50 cut), and the Core will sell for $279.99 ($20 cut).
DiRT is an off-road racing game that takes place on gravel, mud, and dirt and offers a variety of racing categories as well World Rally Championship style. Previously released on the Xbox 360, Codemasters has announced that they will be bringing DiRT to the PS3 this September. Hopefully, they will give PS3 owners a demo like they did 360 owners too.
