Delisted Games on Xbox Live Still Available

XBLA Storage Space
There seems to be a lot of confusion, myself included, about Microsoft delisting underperforming games on Xbox Live Arcade. It seems that even though a game will be delisted from the service, it won’t really be removed entirely, just thrown in a sort of “back room.”

According to Aaron Greenberg, Director of Product Management for Xbox 360 and Live has stated that this is the case and that if you own one of those titles and you delete it and decide you want it later, you’ll still be able to re-download the game. Multiplayer and leaderboards will still work as they always have and delisted titles can still be purchased through the tell a friend option. So don’t worry too much about it, but it still sounds like a hassle to me.

To the Graveyard With Unsuccessful XBLA Titles

Rocky and Bullwinkle

Microsoft has announced that they would like to put more focus on successful titles within their Xbox Live Arcade service and will soon be removing underperforming titles from the service entirely.

Right now the service contains somewhere around 130 different games, and Marc Whitten, Xbox Live general manager, has stated that they would now like to focus more on quality instead of quantity. Below is what determines if a title will be removed from the service. (read more…)

Playstation Store Update

Pixeljunk Monsters

Not a lot on the Playstation Store this week. There isn’t even anything to play. All of those European tracks for Rock Band is available now though. You can also download the PixelJunk Monsters album for $2.99, if you’re one of those hardcore videogame music junkies. On top of that though, there are some game videos, movie trailers and a couple of PS3 themes. Very dull indeed.

There are a few goodies for the PSP though. You can download the full game of The Con, and there are two demos for Hot Shots Golf with varying difficulties. The other stuff consists of a few game videos, game music, and a PSP wallpaper. Yay!

New Prince of Persia Looks Fantastic

Cel-Shaded Prince of Persia

I have always been a huge fan of the Prince of Persia franchise and what’s even cooler is that my girlfriend has always enjoyed watching this series too. So obviously I’m excited for the next Prince of Persia to be complete and in my home and today brings that day a little bit closer. Some screenshots of the game have surfaced on the internet and it seems the game is getting a cel-shaded makeover. It really looks great. If you want to see some more pics, head on over to Tiscali Games.

BioShock Confirmed for PS3!

Bioshock

Okay, so this rumor has been going on for way too long now. It’s almost annoying to hear it anymore. This time though, it seems the rumor is no longer a rumor and is indeed a fact. According to July issue of EGM, 2K Games has confirmed that they are bringing the hugely popular shooter of theirs, Bioshock to the Playstation 3.

If you don’t believe me, the issues is being sent out to homes as I’m writing this, so keep an eye on your mailbox. The game should be available for the holiday season. Good news for Playstation 3 owners, and one less reason for a PS3 fanboy to buy an Xbox 360.
