Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer has been at the top of Xbox Live for a while now, but Call of Duty 4 has come back to swoop in and reclaim the #1 position. Infinity ward seems to be fairly happy with this and has announced that this coming weekend, players can double experience points, which applies to both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.

If you check out Amazon’s Gold Box deals page, you notice that they are catering to gamers once again. The deal of the day is Call of Duty 4: Game of the Year Edition and at certain times of the day there will be other game deals. You’ll have to keep an eye throughout the day to find out the rest. The descriptions give away some good ones though.

Infinity Ward has announced today that they Variety Map Pack for Call of Duty 4 on the Playstation 3 will finally be available for your pleasure next week. On April 24th, you can download the content, in North America for $10, which will give you access to four new multiplayer maps. Europe gets their update on May 1st.

It was believed that the latest map packs for Call of Duty 4 were going to be delayed, but according to Robert Bowling, of Infinity Ward, it isn’t true. The certification of the packs are set for an on-time launch, most likely today or early tomorrow. So, stop being so ancy and relax already.

Four new Call of Duty 4 maps are out today if you own the Xbox 360 version of the game. The map pack is a timed exclusive for now. The Playstation 3 will get the pack in about three weeks and the PC will get it some time after that.

The Xbox 360 version of Call of Duty 4 has had this patch for quite some time now, but finally the PS3 owners out there get it. The new patch includes a Kill Cam which shows deaths from claymores, airstrikes, and grenades, an increase in the accuracy for snipers, new spawn points on every map, host migration (so if a host leaves, the team stays together) and a quick mute feature has also been added.

Activision has confirmed that new maps are being prepared for both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 versions of Call of Duty 4. They are scheduled for release sometime in the Spring, but an official date has not been stated. Pricing has also not yet been announced, but if you are a real Call of Duty 4 fan, you don’t care anyway. You just want those damn maps, right?
