There are quite a few glitches contained within the wildly fun ride that is Grand Theft Auto IV, and a patch has just been released to help fix quite a few of them. This patch is for both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3, so everyone should be happy. Here’s the change list: Continue Reading
Yeah, this is the Roman from Grand Theft Auto IV. Well, the guy that plays him anyway. So according to the video below, Jason Zumwalt, the voice of Roman, isn’t making any residuals from the game. So he’s broke. He needs your money and will let you rent him for the day. He’ll do house chores, hang out and play the game with you, and obviously do the voice. Check it out.
It seems that Take-Two has suggested a sort of “fix” if that’s what you want to call it, for the freezing issues that have plagued some Playstation 3 owners Grand Theft Auto IV gameplay. I’m telling you now though, you aren’t gonna like it. The 12 step process is below. If you want a complete walkthrough, visit Gamespot. They seemed to have gotten their info from the support team at Take-Two.
1. Delete the game’s install data
2. Delete the game’s save files.
3. Disable your internet connectivity
4. Disable the console information board
5. Disabe Media Server functionality
6. Delete all of the system’s internet cache
7. Turn of the PS3 screen saver
8. Manually restart PS3 by holding power button for 5 sec. then release and turn back on by holding button for 5 sec.
9. Try game again
Jim, from BushleagueTV was attempting to defeat the world record for longest gameplay of Grand Theft Auto, which was set at 25 hours straight, and last night, he did it. The record was beaten at 6:30pm last night but he kept playing until 9pm for good measure. Good job Jim. See you when you wake up next week.
Of course Old Grandma Hardcore bought Grand Theft Auto IV. This is a game that I think fits her perfectly; violent, loud, and full of profanity. I can’t wait to here her review of the game. I hope she likes it, because I sure as hell do. The new braking system is still a bit tough though. There, my only gripe.
It seems that Jack Thompson really likes video games, he just pretends he doesn’t to get publicity. I think he targets companies who create violent video games because he knows that they make the big bucks and it’s his chance to try to rake some of that in.
Anyway, GamePolitics.com received this photo from Jack Thompson himself with the subject line of “evidence.” I’m betting that the game in his hands were purchased by an underage kid. I hope that’s really not the case though. So much of this crap could be taken away if store employees were strict in not selling games to minors.
It seems that a few Playstation 3 owners have been reporting problems of the game repeatedly freezing on them. Some have even tried reinstalling the game several times with no luck although this fix has been working for some. According to many reports, it seems to be happening mainly on the 60GB models. So if you have this problem, your best option right now is to delete all data related to the game, including game saves, and try reinstalling. Luckily I haven’t had any problems yet. I have a 60GB PS3 too.
If you plan on purchasing Grand Theft Auto IV or already have on the Xbox 360, you’ll be pleased to know that the game comes with a full free month of the Xbox Live service. Looks like Microsoft is giving all kinds of incentives to buy their version of the game.
The game hasn’t even come out yet and there’s already a user generated radio station for Grand Theft Auto IV. Even Merz has been collecting songs from unsigned indie rock bands on the internet for the past month and has even added his own DJ dialogue to keep the station interesting. The set lasts about an hour so this should be enough to keep you entertained while your simulating cop murder, so would say Jack Thompson.
You probably won’t be able to have custom soundtracks in the PS3 version, but you will be able to stream the music on the PC and in the XMB on the Xbox 360. Anyway, download the MP3 from Evan’s blog at This is Not a Label, then pick up GTAIV at midnight tonight at Best Buy. Put the two together and have a wonderful day off from work tomorrow.
