Grand Theft Auto IV Release Date Announced

Grand Theft Auto IV

In what will probably be the best news you’ve heard in a long time or will hear for a while, Grand Theft Auto IV now has an official release date of April 29, 2008, as announced by Rockstar Games this morning. This will be a simultaneous release for both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 worldwide. My Thursday has been made.

Haze Delayed Once Again

Haze

Free Radical’s highly anticipated game, Haze, has been delayed twice already and today brings news of the third delay. Originally, the PS3 exclusive was supposed to be available in November last year, but a delay sent the release date into December. Then it was delayed into sometime in early ’08. Now the release date has been set at “fiscal year 2008.” This is a good way to be forgotten. You know, you have to strike while the iron’s hot. That time may have already passed with this one.

White PS3 Coming to North America

White PS3

Filings on the FCC website (view “test setup photos”) show that Sony has made plans to bring the white, 40GB Playstation 3 to North America. No release date has been announced yet though. Now that this information is very clear on the FCC’s website, I would guess that the white version isn’t too far down the road.

Rock Band Pack for This Week

The downloadable content for Rock Band this week is the Oasis Music Pack. All three songs in the pack are from Oasis. The songs are “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” “Live Forever,” and “Wonderwall.” You can get each song for 160 Microsoft points or $1.99 each on the PS3 later this week, as well as picking up the whole pack for 440 Microsoft points.

Lost Planet PS3 Release Date Announced

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

If you are a PS3 owner who has been jealous of those Xbox 360 owners who have been playing Lost Planet, edit…played a long time ago, you’re time has come. Capcom has announced that the game will be in stores on February 26. It will contain all of the downloadable multiplayer maps that were released on the other versions as well as exclusive multiplayer characters.

200 Rock Band Songs Coming

According to an article on IGN, there are already a couple hundred songs in the future of Rock Band, just for 2008. I’m kind of hoping for more newer stuff, but the old stuff is fun too. So if you bought every song that will come out for Rock Band, how much would you have spent by the end of the year? About $400. Now that’s an expensive video game.
