Bionic Commando Hits a Snag

The remake of the original Bionic Commando from the NES seems to have hit some sort of snag. The game from GRIN was supposed to see a release sometime in May, but according to a post on the Playstation Blog about the new Rocketmen expansion pack, there is a quick mention of the game coming out after 1942: Joint Strike, which comes in July. Maybe they thought nobody would notice?

Killzone 2 Pushed Back to 2009

Killzone 2

Sucky news, yes, but for good reason. Killzone 2 has been announced to be getting another delay, but this time it’s because Sony didn’t want the game to compete with another huge title coming out this year, Resistance 2. I’m actually fine with that, because I plan to purchase both games and I’d rather beat one of ’em first and then go out and buy the next one. And this will probably give the Killzone 2 team some more time to throw some shine on their game before launch. If they’ll even need it, since it’s been in the works for so damn long already.

Metal Gear Online Beta Delayed

Metal Gear Online

If you happen to be one of the lucky players included in the Metal Gear Online Beta, today isn’t your lucky day, as Konami has delayed the beta.

On the Metal Gear Online website, it states “we regret to inform you that due to extraordinary levels of traffic from all around the globe, we have been unable to run the service to the level we expected.”

So they will be delaying the start date until servers stabilize. An announcement is expected from Konami sometime tomorrow. The ending date has also been pushed to a later date as well, which will now be May 11th instead of May 6th.

Mass Effect for PC Delayed

Mass Effect PC

Mass Effect has already been available to Xbox 360 owners for quite some time now, so I’m sure all of you PC gamers are ready to get your hands on this great game already. Sadly, the release date of May 6th is no more. You’ll have to wait a couple more weeks. Chris Priestly, Community Coordinator of the Bioware forums has made this statement.

I have just confirmed with the development team that we are making a small change to the release date of Mass Effect for the PC. We had previously announced May 6, 2008 for North America. The new release date for North America is May 28, 2008 and June 6, 2008 in Europe.

So that sucks, but a couple of weeks will fly by in a snap, and the game will be a little more polished because of it. I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait.

Wii Okami Gets Small Delay

Okami

If you’re one of the people anxiously awaiting the release of Okami on the Wii, your wait is about to get a little bit longer. Capcom has confirmed that the game will be released three weeks later than what was expected, so you can look for it on store shelves on April 15.

Two More Great Games Delayed For This Year

Electronic Arts has announced that they are delaying two of their games, Battlefield: Bad Company and Mercenaries 2, due to needing some additional “polish.” Both games were expected to be released in early 2007, but EA has stated that they are pushing them into fiscal 2009, which begins, April 1, 2008. Not too bad. It always worth the wait for a real quality game.

Smash Bros. Brawl Delayed

First, Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii was supposed to be available in December 2007, but minor setbacks pushed the game out to February 18, 2008. That kinda sucked, but now even more sucky news comes as Nintendo has announced that the game is being delayed once again. Only a couple weeks later than expected, Smash Bros. Brawl should be available on March 9. Not too bad I suppose.
