GTAIV Hits the Torrent Sites

In some bad news for the gaming industry, it seems that a pirated copy of the PAL version of Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360 has hit the torrent sites. Only a week before the games release. This is sure to hurt Rockstar’s sales of the game, although there’s no telling how much.

People need to realize how much this impacts the gaming industry as a whole. I know everyone really wants to play it now but I will definitely wait until the game comes out and purchase it legally. Support the gaming companies, don’t steal from them.

Why Was GTAIV Censored in Australia?

Rockstar Games has given an explanation to the “special” edition of Grand Theft Auto IV that Australians will be playing soon. By special, I mean crap, but I digress. The reason is that Australia doesn’t have an R18+ rating available from the Office of Film and Literature Classification. Rockstar has stated that there are only minor differences between the US/EU and Australia versions and that the changes not significant at all. I’m not sure how much I believe that though.

Australians Getting Edited GTAIV

In some sad, but not surprising news for Australians concerning Grand Theft Auto IV, the game will be edited. Rockstar has confirmed that they have made a special edition of the game to comply with Australia’s classification system. Currently Australia doesn’t have an R18+ rating, but many people are arguing that one should be created, mostly for reasons such as this. As of now, Rockstar has not made any statements about what content has been cut from the game, but I’m sure it’s all the good parts.

Grand Theft Auto IV Release Date Announced

In what will probably be the best news you’ve heard in a long time or will hear for a while, Grand Theft Auto IV now has an official release date of April 29, 2008, as announced by Rockstar Games this morning. This will be a simultaneous release for both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3 worldwide. My Thursday has been made.
