With all of the GTAIV hoopla, you may have forgotten that there is some downloadable content for Rock Band for your Xbox 360 today. Expect the same on Thursday for the PS3. Here’s the tracks:

  • The Mother Hips “Time Sick Son of a Grizzly Bear”
  • The Mother Hips “Red Tandy”
  • Smashing Pumpkins “Zero”

Next Weeks Rock Band Update

The Mother Hips

For some reason, next weeks Rock Band update isn’t bundled in a content pack, as far as I know, but here’s what you get for $1.99 each.

  • The Mother Hips – “Red Tandy”
  • The Mother Hips – “Time Sick Son of a Grizzly Bear”
  • Smashing Pumpkins – “Zero”

Full Albums Coming to Rock Band… Finally

Judas Priest

Before Rock Band even came out, Harmonix and MTV were saying that full albums would be released for the game, but we waited and waited, and it never happened. Well thats about to change.

They’ve announced that a full album from Judas Priest’s “Screaming for Veneance” will be coming next week on April 22nd for the Xbox 360 or the 24th for the Playstation Store. You can buy the tracks separately at $1.99 each or the entire album for $14.99. Personally, I think I’ll keeping all of my money in my wallet for this one.

Rock Band DLC Today W/ Motley Crue Bonus Track

This weeks downloadable content for Rock Band will be available today on the Xbox 360 and on Thursday for the Playstation 3. Each track will cost $1.99 each or you can download all three master tracks in the “Classic Rock” pack for $5.50. I’m not a huge fan of Blondie, but the Police are cool and Simple Man is an awesome song from Lynyrd Skynyrd. This is a pack worth picking up. Here are the songs:

  • “Call Me” by Blondie
  • “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
  • “Message in a Bottle” by the Police

Harmonix also announced that they will be releasing the new single from Motley Crue as well, and it’ll be available for only $0.99. Good deal.

Next Weeks Rock Band Update

Next week brings you the Classic Rock pack. You can purchase the pack for $5.49 or the three songs in it seperately for $1.99 each. Here are the tracks (all master tracks):

  • “Call Me” by Blondie
  • “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd
  • “Message in a Bottle” by the Police

Harmonix Wants a Hard Drive on the Wii

Rock Band

This comes as no surprise, but the reason that Rock Band sucks so much on the Nintendo Wii comes down to the fact that the Wii doesn’t have a hard drive. Harmonix wants people to know this too. Rob Kay, design director at Harmonix has stated about downloadable content, “The whole problem is there’s nowhere to store it” and that “If the platform could do it, we’d jump on it.”

So will the out-of-touch idiots at Nintendo listen to this advice and get with the times or will they shrug it off as something that they believe isn’t wanted by gamers. Probably the latter for now, but I sure wish Nintendo would think about this one already. Nobody likes storing stuff on little SD cards.

PS3 owners will have to wait a few weeks for the PS Store upgrade. Here are your choices:

  • “Rock Rebellion by Bang Camaro
  • “Shake” by Count Zero
  • “Superf Sprode” by Freezepop

Next Week’s Rock Band DLC

Still Alive For Rock Band is Free This Week

John Coulton

The popular song from Portal, “Still Alive” from John Coulton is scheduled for release for Rock Band this week on the Xbox 360 and it will be completely free. Since their will be no content added to the Playstation Store until it’s re-launch, PS3 owners will have to wait for a few weeks still. Unless it’ll be available through the Rock Band in-game store, which is doubtful.
