Konami Code Hidden In Google Reader

Google Reader Konami Code

It turns out that someone at Google is a fan of video games, or more specifically Konami. On the home page of your Google Reader, you can type in the code using the arrow keys and keyboard, you’ll get a little easter egg. If you don’t know the code, shame on you. I’ll be nice though, so here it is; up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A. Enter it on the home screen of the Google Reader after you’ve logged in.

If you’ve been wanting to play the bloody and gory game that is Dark Sector, you can now find the demo on the Xbox Live Marketplace. It’s available in all Xbox Live regions. Enjoy!

Frogger and Commando 3 on XBLA

Two more games this Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday. Some good ones too.

Frogger 2
First off, you have Frogger 2. This game needs no explanation. Everyone knows the classic Frogger games. This version comes in HD though, and can be played by up to 4 players online. It’ll set you back 800 Microsoft points.

Wolf of the Battlefield
Next, you can pick up Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3. This is one of the most popular arcade shooters ever, and for good reason…cuz it’s good! This one is also 800 Microsoft points. Now go shoot some stuff up and take care of those testosterone levels.

Rock Band Update: Virtually Unknown

The Myriad Cove

I haven’t heard of any of the bands in this weeks Rock Band update, but then again, I don’t listen to the “music” channel that is MTV. Anyway, this week you can pick up the MTV2 Pack on Xbox 360 today, or PS3 on Thursday, for $2.99 containing the songs below.

  • “Moving to Seattle” by The Material
  • “A Clean Shot” by The Myriad
  • “Bullets & Guns” by Them Terribles
  • “Girls Who Play Guitars” by Maximo Park

Ready at Dawn Says No More to PSP

PSP Dev Kits

The company who created Daxter and God of War: Chains of Olympus for the PSP, Ready at Dawn, have confirmed on their website that they will no longer be supporting the PSP. They commented a while back that after completing God of War that “our work on the PSP has come to an end,” so we all knew it was coming, but now it’s official. The picture above are the actual PSP dev kits that they are sending back too.

So what can Sony do to stop other developers from heading in the same direction? How about some more advertising? They don’t give the PSP enough publicity. Toss some money at it, and maybe it’ll start selling. Well, it’s been a top seller in Japan for a while now, so maybe things will pick up. To be honest, I don’t think thats the reason Ready at Dawn made their decision though. I think it just had more to do with company focus.

Wiikly Update: Nothing Interesting

Ok, sorry about the “nothing interesting” title, but I wouldn’t purchase any of the games released today. Well, maybe one; Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa sounds like the funnest release of the three. It’s a platformer that was never released before here in the States, which puts you in the place of a baby who can inflate his enemies with his rattle. You can get this one for 600 points.

Then you have Dig Dug, which doesn’t really need an explanation as everyone has seen this game in some form. You can download that one for 600 points as well.

Lastly, is the one lonesome WiiWare title; My Pokemon Ranch. This one will let you watch your Pokemon and Miis interact with each other while on ranch. You can take pictures and send them to your friends on the Wii Message board too. You can get that 1,000 points.

The Next Call of Duty is Revealed

It seems that the latest game in the Call of Duty franchise has been revealed from the upcoming Official Xbox Magazine, and will be titled Call of Duty: World at War. The game will be developed by Treyarch and will take place during World War II.

Treyarch probably knows that there are already so many World War II games out there, so they’re trying to bring something new to the genre. They will be focusing on “darker themes” and will be trying to give the game a more survival horror tone. Nothing has been announced yet from Activision, but there should be more info soon.
